- Secretary, Kolar District Congress Committee (1945-51).
- Member, District Board; Director, Iron and Steel Works, Bhadravathi, Secretary, Reception Committee, A. I. C. C. Session held at Bangalore (1951).
- Member and Chief Whip, Mysore State Legislative Assembly(l945-52).
- Member, Mysore Constituent Assembly; Member, First Lok Sabha (1952-57).
- Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Food and Agriculture (July 12 to August 10, 1952).
- Deputy Minister, Food and Agriculture (August 11, 1952 to April 1957).
- Deputy Minister for Food from May 1957 till the dissolution of second Lok Sabha.
- Organised adult literacy campaign, mining labour and students in Mysore.
- Founder, Mulabagil Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society.
- Led students' movement in 1942 and was sentenced twice for political reasons.
- Travelled widely in U.S. S. R. and all Scandinavian countries, U. K. and France (1954) and China and Japan (1956).
