- Participated in the Quit India Movement of 1942 and detained in Yeroda Central Prison for about one year. Graduate of Gandharv Maha Vidyalay.
- Elected to the Mysore Legislative Council from Teachers' Constituency in the bye-election held in the month of March 1973.
- Re-elected as a member of the Legislative Council on 30-6-1974.
