Position Held 1. Passed Mysore Civil Services Competitive Examinations held in 1940 and appointed as Revenue Probationer.
2. Received gradual promotions and served at several places of the State and was elected to IAS Cadre; in 1960; Served as Deputy Commissioner of Shimoga District from 1961; Chikkamagalur District from 1963 and Dakshina Kannada District from 1965; later in 1972 served as the Head of the Survey Department and served as endownment Commissioner.
3. Recognising his vast experience in various departments, the Government appointed him as a member of Public Service Commission of the State in 1972. He has not only done his duties with devotion but also made a valuable contribution to the Kannada literature as an Accomplished Writer.
Social and Other Activities 1. The Janapada Loka is the embodiment of the ardent desire of Dr. Nagegowda for creation of an intergrated Rural Cultural Centre for Development of Folk Culture and Arts. The Janapada Loka with an extent of 15 acres situated at a distance of 3 Kms from Ramanagara was dedicated to the people of our Nation on 12th March 1994.

3. Apart from the above works has won State Academy Awards also
4. He presided over the 64th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan held at Mudhol. Interested in folk music and folklore
5. Nominated to the Legislative Council in the year 1995
