| Position Held | 1. Has been a Member of the Mysore University Senate for 15 years and the University Council and Syndicate for 10 years. 2. Was also a member of the Academic Council, Faculties of Arts, Science and Commerce. 3. Was elected to the Legislative Council of the old State of Mysore in 1946 from the University Constituency; became a Member of the Legislative Council under the new Constitution in 1952 representing Teachers' Constituency and was re-elected in 1956 from the same constituency. 4. He is keenly interested in all problems touching the life of the people and takes active part in legislature and outside. 5. Was the founder of several educational and cultural institutions in the State and is intimately connected with the running of the Gandhinagar Higher Secondary School, M.E.S. College of Arts and Commerce, M.E.S. Teachers' College, Institution of Teacher Training, etc. 6. Was the Secretary of the Mysore Education Society, State Samskrita Vishwa Parishad. 7. Was also President of the Indian Theatre Centre, State Pandit Mandala and is closely associated with Bharatiya Vidyabhavan , Bombay, etc. 8. Was also a writer of several important books. Takes keen interest in discussions relating to Finance, Cooperative movement, Industry and Educational matters. 9. Was also member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Subordinate legislation, etc., in the legislature. | |
