- Was President of the Taluk Congress Committee of Holalkere taluk, Chitradurga district from 1937 to 1947.
- Served as a member of the Mysore Pradesh Congress Committee from 1937 to 1947. Was member of the A.I.C.C. from 1955 to 1959.
- Served as a member of Mysore Representative Assembly from 1945 to 1950 as a Congress party candidate, Elected to the Legislative Council in 1956 from Local Authorities Constituency. During that time served as Deputy whip of the Mysore Legislature Congress Party.
- Was a member of Mysore University Senate for a term of three years. Served as President and VicePresident of District Congress Committee, Chitradurga from 1965 to 1967.
- After the great split of the Indian National Congress, in 1968 organised the Ruling Congress in Chitradurga district by serving as President of the Ad hoc committee. in June, 1972, elected to the Legislative Council from the Assembly.
