  1. 1942 - 1947 : As an active member of Student Congress, participated in Congress Movement and Freedom struggle.
  2. 1945 - 1947 : Secretary, Kanakapura Taluk Student Congress - organised with other leaders "Mysore Chalo" in Kanakapura Taluk, took a jatha to Mysore for merger of the Mysore State with Indian Union (1947).
