Social and Other Activities | 1. Quit India Movement in 1942 at the age of 16 years and was in the jail for a period of six months as a political detenue Afterwards organized student and Youths of Shimoga District for the freedom Struggle. 2. Took keen interest in establishing Akhila Karnataka Vidyarthi Congress and was Secretary of the same. Had taken keen interest in the expansion of Sevadal activities. 3. Actively participated in the 1947 Independence Movement to achieve responsible Government and was arrested. Left Congress Party in1918. One of the founder members of the Karnataka Socialist Party. 4. Was an organiser of the Historical Kagodu Movement started in Shimoga District. Was Joint Secretary of the integrated State Praja Socialist Party and the Socialist Party for some time. 5. Was President of Shimoga Town Municipality, Was member of the working Committee of the State Samyuktha Socialist Party. Was elected to the Mysore Legislative Council in 1968. |
