Social and other activities
  1. Superintending Engineer; Ed; in Mysore, Ootacamund and at London, School of Economics and Political Science, London University.
  2. Graduated in Social Science (specialising in Labour management), was Personnel Officer, Metal Box Company, London. Assistant Organiser, Public Health Department.
  3. London County Council; was also actively associated with the work of India League, London, which was spearheading the Indian Freedom movement.
  4. On her return to India in 1946, joined the Indian National Congress and used her spare time in freelance journalism.
  5. Assisted the late Professor K. T. Shah with the preparation of the First Labour Report of the National Planning Committee.
  6. In 1947 was appointed as Assistant Director for Employment and Resettlement of the Labour Department, Government of India, and was in charge of Women's Employment and Training Schemes all over India.
  7. In 1950 proceeded to U. S. A. to take up her new appointment with the United Nations as Social Affairs Officer.
  8. Served in the Department of Economics and Social Affairs, Bureau of Technical Assistance Administration and later served in the Department of Trusteeship and Information for non-Self-governing Territories.
  9. On returning to India in 1958 actively associated with the work of the M.P.C.C.
  10. In 1961 organised the Mysore State Women's Convention on the Third Five-Year Plan.
  11. Elected to the Legislative Council in the biennial Elections in 1962.
