  1. Involved in Drama and Stage Art and Music since very young age, Obtained early training in music under the guidance of the Late Neelakantha Buwa of Miraj, Had intensive training under the well-known musicians Manjikhan and Burkjikhan, sons of Music Wizard Ustad Alladiakhan of Jaipur Gharana.
  2. Performance given all over India from AIR Stations including several National Programmes of Music and Radio Sangeet Sammelans, Worked as Sangeet Salahakar for Dharwar, Pune, Bombay and Bangalore AIR Stations for 10 years.
  3. Honoured by the Sangeet Nataka Academy of the Karnataka State twice in 1962 and 1964, was conferred 'Padmashree' in 1970 and Padmabhushan in 1975.
  4. Has given innumerable Music Performances in well-known Music Organisations all over India.
  5. In recognition of the Yeomen service and contribution to the field of Music, the Karnataka University awarded the Dr degree honoris Causa in 1975.
  6. Was Honorary Director of the Institute of Music and Faculty of Fine Arts in the Karnataka University, Dharwad.
  7. Awarded 'Kalidasa' Sanman Prashasthi 1981.
  8. Fellowship Sangeeta Nataka Academy, Delhi 1982; Professor, Emeritus, Karnataka University 1982.
  9. Responsible for starting music as a subject at Karnataka University.
  10. Directon of the faculty of Fine Arts of Karnataka University from 1978-82.
  11. Worked as Adviser for Music, All India Radio, New Delhi for a period of 9 years from 1960-69.
  12. Was nominated as Legislative Council on 9th August, 1984.
