| Position Held | 1. He participated in the Non-cooperation Movement in 1920-22 and in all other freedom struggles. 2. He was soon elected General Secretary of the Karnataka Pranta Congress Committee at the Ranibennur Session of K.P.C.C. presided over by Sri Gangadhar Rao Deshpande. 3. He was elected Chairman of the Dharwar District Congress Committee in 1946 and held the post till 1960. 4. He relentlessly fought for the unification of Karnataka, has taken keen interest in constructive programmes. 5. He was Chairman of the Mysore State Khadi and Village Industries Board from 1956 to 1958. 6. He was President of the M.G.R.T.Ds. Employees Union Federation for six years. 7. He was elected to the Legislative Council in the bye-election in 1960. 8. Was Chairman of the Legislative Council from 3rd July 1962 to 13th May 1966. 9. Re-elected to the Legislative Council in 1966. |
