- Was a Government servant for some time and now a business man.
- Took part in the movement for the merger of Jath State in Bombay State in 1947-48.
- Functioned as a nominated member of the Bombay Legislative Assembly for the merged Jath Taluk from 1949 to 1952.
- Was a member of the Executive of the D.C.C. Bijapur, for some time.
- Was also a member of erstwhile K.P.C.C. in 1953.
- Elected to the Mysore Legislative Council on Congress ticket in 1956.
- Has also worked in many co-operative institutions and in many social causes such as flood relief etc.
